We strive to hire people who reflect our communities and embrace diversity and inclusion to advance our culture, develop our employees, and grow our business.IIS is seeking a Sr Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules, FPGAs, and/or CCAs for a variety of DoD applications. The qualified candidate must be experienced in all aspects of circuit card and/or FPGA design from concept through delivery to higher level assemblies as evidenced by multiple successful design completions (including hardware/firmware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, UART). This role functions in multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects. This person will be the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for development of one or more complex modules, CCAs or FPGAs and will be expected to apply rigorous and systematic design processes to ensure total design compliance. This role interfaces with Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL) and stake holders to ensure program objectives are achieved.The role requires frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques. Candidates are expected to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, working under general supervision. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive. Occasional travel (10% to 15%) could be required.In this position, you will perform circuit board layouts using CAD software to meet certain performance and program requirements. The primary responsibilities of this position will include, but not limited to:Must be a US Citizen, with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearanceInterpreting schematic diagrams and utilizing preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate PCB designs for both RF and digital systems. Executing the detail design for printed circuit boards and completion of documentation to IPC and department standards using PCB design CAD tool.Perform independent reviews of the design using provided software tools.Coordinating with other disciplines affected by design development. Self-check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, and specificationsWorking with the Reducibility Engineer to facilitate design reviews as they relate to PCB layout and design for manufacturability.Incorporating Engineering Change Notices on PCB layouts and drawings.Required Skills: Experience laying out printed circuit boards using Expedition CAD software.Understanding of Printed Circuit Board fabrication.Understanding of drafting room principles.Must be familiar with applicable industry (IPC) design and end product performance standards for circuit card assemblies and printed wiring boards including IPC-6012, IPC-2221, J-STD-001, IPC-7351Ability to communicate technical knowledge and document descriptions of technical solutions for CCA and PWB technology products. Ability to work in multiple discipline integrated product development team environments to successfully execute tasks and deliver high quality work products.The position requires multi-tasking to support several programs concurrently and will require local travel between sites and also some remote travel as required.Must have strong desire to learn and contribute in a teaming environmentMicrosoft Office tools i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and VisioMust be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain a DOD Security ClearanceDesired Skills: Familiarity with design tools for printed wiring board and circuit card assembly technologies (Mentor xDM, Mentor Xpedition, Blueprint, VALOR NPI, etc.)Familiarity with PWB/CCA technology Manufacturing Design Rules and Guidelines (MDRGs) Prior experience designing, and / or supporting aerospace/defense related productsExpertise in component selection for military and aerospace environmentsIPC CID or CID+ certificationExisting security clearance Required Education (including Major): 8 years of industry experience as ECAD designer with Bachelor---s Degree This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. 151784Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
