BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Software Architect at our Indiana Technical Center (ITC) with locations in Noblesville or Kokomo, Indiana. This position may also be considered to work out of the Propulsion Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI if necessary.

The Software Architect will analyze customer specifications, provide architectural solutions and develop embedded software for use in Power Drive Systems (PDS) projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review customer specifications and analyze requirements
  • Provide architectural solutions for new business opportunities
  • Coordinate and develop common architectural solutions with platform organization for new projects
  • Work with international/distributed software engineering teams for Automotive Electronics Projects
  • Mentor/Train less experienced engineers
  • Feature/Function planning rollout
  • Support customer technical reviews
  • Work on new technologies and provide proof of concept solutions
  • Provide estimates for new project tasks and plan resources
  • Support audits - internal and external
  • Support software process adherence and compliance with Quality Assurance standards
  • Work as part of a development team to gain insight into product capability
  • Develop embedded software using C, AUTOSAR and Model based tools focusing on reusability across projects
  • Assist in debugging through established problem solving techniques and debug on bench
  • Interface with Systems engineering to ensure software requirements are documented appropriately and analyzed prior to software design and implementation
  • Design, code, test software following Automotive SPICE-compliant development process
  • Ensure document traceability from requirements through test cases
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar engineering field
    • 8+ years of embedded software experience required
    • Automotive experience preferred
    • New project estimation experience in a "business pursuits" group
    • Prior experience as a SW architect in embedded domain is preferred
    • Knowledge of AUTOSAR BSW modules and RTE generation preferred
    • Software integration experience on at least one AUTOSAR-based project
    • CAN experience preferred
    • Experience with requirements management tool
    • Low level driver development experience is strongly preferred
    • Knowledge/Experience with MATLAB-Simulink, AUTOSAR tools (MicroSAR or VSTAR based), Lauterbach, CAN tools
    • Knowledge of Agile is a plus
