Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Dayton, OH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,199 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years License: Any state RN license acceptable Certifications: BLS ACLS NIH PALS (preferred) TNCC (preferred) Must-Have: Must have EPIC experience Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment Experience with stable chronic ventilators is required IV start experience is preferred Nurses will be fitted for N95 before working in specialized units unless PAPR is offered or needed Description: Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but can be up to 1:5-6. The unit is fast-paced with physical demands. Most patients need physical assistance to turn, move, or ambulate. The unit cares for trach/vented patients, quadriplegics, brain injury patients, and various orthopedic injuries. Patients may have multi-system problems requiring a broad skill set. A significant amount of pain medication is administered due to the nature of the patient conditions. Travelers will be the first to float at management's discretion. Floating assignments may occur within the specialty clusters. Floating may involve medically appropriate assignments supporting the care team of the unit floated to. Travelers must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Staffing adjustments may occur due to low census. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives. Requests for time off need to be submitted initially and are subject to management approval. Lab work and EKG/dysrhythmia exams must be completed as specified. Weekly assessments and continuing education modules are required throughout the assignment. All scheduling requests must be clearly indicated on the application. No references are required for application. The unit will provide interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 32 patients, with 36 beds available. Special procedures may include dressing changes, chest tube placements, and laceration repairs. Specialized equipment will be utilized, including trach ventilation and orthopedic devices.
