qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202! Pay
Information $2,973 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: In-state license
required Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner required
Must-Have: L&D travel experience Facility births per month:
200-300 Ability to perform NST (Non-Stress Tests) Reflex checks,
edema assessment, and clonus Use of External Fetal Heart Monitoring
(EFM) Experience with diabetes mellitus, malpresentations, and
multiple gestation Knowledge of placenta previa/abruptio,
pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and premature rupture of membranes
Experience in preterm labor and RH incompatibilities Knowledge of
uterine rupture and VBAC management/trial of labor Ability to use
internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement and calibration
Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
Ability to administer blood and blood products Experience in
drawing venous blood Skill in starting and maintaining peripheral
IV Ability to manage antihypertensives, insulin drips, and
magnesium sulfate therapy Knowledge of Pitocin (oxytocin),
prostaglandins, and terbutaline Experience in amnioinfusion and
assisting with high-risk delivery Skill in assisting with vaginal
delivery and forceps/vacuum extraction Ability to manage
hemorrhage/shock and recovery from C-section Skill in APGAR scoring
and collecting cord samples Knowledge of ID/security banding and
neonatal resuscitation Experience with radiant warmers and
thermoregulation Ability to assess and manage newborn hypoglycemia
Skill in managing epidural anesthesia and general anesthesia
Experience in opioid pain assessment and management Ability to
perform Foley catheter insertion and fundus/lochia/perineum care
Skill in wound assessment and care, vaginal delivery, and cesarean
section Knowledge of bladder distension and couplet care Experience
with multiple births and postpartum hemorrhage Ability to manage
pregnancy-induced hypertension and administer vaccines Description:
The role involves caring for patients in labor and delivery. The
nurse will provide OB-specific care alongside a primary RN when
floating to other units. A quick orientation to the unit is
required on the first shift. The nurse must be available to work
during major holidays. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of
applicable experience. Floating within the hospital or to nearby
affiliates is a requirement for all travelers. All certifications
must be current and in hand prior to beginning the position.
