Sales Director in Indianapolis, IN at Vaco Vaco Indianapolis has partnered with a global organization providing niche electrical and mechanical product solutions to fill a Sales Director role. Role Summary
This role is for an entrepreneurial individual who will work with an established business that is looking to grow other lines of business through organic growth initiatives and acquisitions. There is an opportunity for advancement here.
The focus of this sales role will be to develop new suppliers whom you and your team can leverage to expand our customer base in additional industries.
Core KPIs: Operating Income, Gross Profit, Sales and Customer Satisfaction.
Main Duties:

• Exceed core Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
• Partner with Group Product Director to develop new suppliers.
• Map, profile and segment our customer base to improve sales efficiencies.
• Expand our industry and application sales' reach to new customers.
• Develop and leverage leading KPIs to manage your sales activities.
• Manage your pipeline daily through the CRM and backlog with our ERP.
• Provide accurate order and sales forecasting.
• Develop and present a monthly Balance Scorecard.
• Work with Operations leadership and make recommendations on stock.
• Maximize margin potentials through market pricing and efficient quoting.
• Deliver pro-active and regular communication with our customers.
• Upload customer communication and sales visit reports to the CRM.
• Key input to the company's annual budget and reforecast processes.
• Manage sales and expenses to budget.
• Research and recommend new products and solutions.
• Provide competitive leading technical support to customers.
• Provide marketing ideas and support business media promotions.

  Ability to influence and inspire without direct line authority.

  Strong change management, leadership, and teamwork skills
  Excellent written and oral communication skills, including numeracy.
  Competent with business systems, such as CRM and ERP. Education and Experience
  Degree in Business Management and/or a Technical Subject.
  7 years+ in business development and key account management.
  Experienced in developing a business plan and budget and delivering it.
  A track record of meeting sales targets. Strong data analytical skills and attention to detail. Experience with lean management tools (eg, Kaizen) is a plus.
