Hire Salary: $80,000–$130,000 Benefits: Medical, dental, vision
Sterling Engineering is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in
Indianapolis, IN. This opportunity is with a top-tier
engineering/design organization offering strong project diversity
and career growth. Job Duties: Lead electrical system design for
power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage
infrastructure. Develop load calculations, panel schedules,
one-line diagrams, and equipment layouts using Revit and Design
Master. Perform voltage drop, fault current, and load calculations
using Design Master or SKM. Coordinate utility service
requirements, transformer sizing, and metering needs. Prepare Basis
of Design documents, system narratives, and technical
specifications. Collaborate with mechanical, architectural,
structural, plumbing, and low-voltage teams. Participate in client
meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions. Support
project managers with scope development, scheduling, and client
communication. Perform QA/QC on drawings, models, and calculations.
Conduct field visits for construction administration, including
RFIs, submittals, and punch lists. Mentor and support junior
engineering staff. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Electrical Engineering. 8 years of electrical engineering
experience, ideally within professional services. Professional
Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1–2 years.
Proficient in Revit (5 years) with experience using Design Master
Electrical or SKM PowerTools. Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70,
NFPA 72, and state building codes. Experience designing normal and
emergency power systems, switchboards, panelboards, feeders,
transformers, grounding, lighting, fire alarm systems, and
low-voltage pathways. Ability to perform voltage drop, load, and
fault current calculations. Experience coordinating with utility
companies; knowledge of solar/renewable systems is a plus. Strong
communication and technical writing skills. Ability to manage
multiple projects independently. Experience in healthcare, higher
education, federal, government, or institutional facilities is
