Start your future with BorgWarner now!Job purposeBorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as an Senior Power Electronics Mechanical Design Engineer in the Innovation and Building Block Development team. The Senior Power Electronics Mechanical Design Engineer will work as part of a team developing next generation electrification products and be responsible for the specification, design, packaging, implementation, and testing of high voltage bulk capacitors.Key responsibilities

• Responsible for specification and application support of high voltage bulk capacitors in Power Electronics Traction Inverter applications
• Perform or Support mechanical design and packaging studies (e.g. Siemens NX)
• Perform bulk capacitor testing & verification
• Lead efforts to identify and implement new designs and technology, with a focus on supplier and cost management
• Effectively articulate electrical implications while supporting mechanical packaging and system design
• Collaborate with Systems and Mechanical design teams in concept development
• Technically support business pursuit teamsWhat we're looking for
  • BSME, 5+ years of experience required / Masters (ME/EE), 8+ years of experience preferred
  • Subject matter expert in electronic component design fundamentals and testing preferred
  • Training and mentoring experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of electronic component design fundamentals and testing
  • Familiar with design for low inductance and equivalent series resistance (ESR)
  • Experience with high voltage design and testing is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to travel 10% both domestically and internationally
  • Mechanical skills, such as thermal simulation and basic CAD design experience are desirable
  • A candidate with ME and EE cross competency training is preferred, as this position overlaps both competenciesWhat we offer
