Job Description:

Summary of Position This position is located at our Noblesville, IN facility and is part of a small shift team that must frequently work independently and with limited supervision. This position is responsible for performing routine and non-routine cyclotron (particle accelerator) equipment operations and maintenance tasks necessary to produce bulk radiopharmaceuticals according to cGMP and safety regulations. This position is also responsible for the timely response to and communication of any abnormal equipment conditions and leading/assisting with troubleshooting and repairing as necessary. Schedule This position supports production in a 24-hour manufacturing facility and may require evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays with occasional overtime. Normal shift will be 2:00pm 11:30pm Wednesday Sunday. Essential Functions * Performs general troubleshooting to maintain operations of cyclotron and support equipment * Performs routine maintenance and repairs of cyclotron and support equipment with minimal to no instructions. * Performs special and advanced maintenance and repairs of cyclotrons and support equipment with general instructions. * Performs scheduled start-ups and shutdowns of cyclotron. * Performs target loading, installation, and transport activities. * Operates and monitors cyclotrons and support systems during target irradiation. * Monitors cyclotrons during standby conditions. * Must frequently communicate with the Cyclotron Chemistry department personnel to coordinate cyclotron daily production activities. * Must actively manage personal radiation exposure per prescribed policies, procedures, and guidelines. * Performs record keeping of cyclotron performance and operations data. * Performs record keeping of maintenance and repair work performed. * Provide technical training and support others on the Cyclotron Operations team * Provide cyclotron operation coverage as needed. * Troubleshoot problems including those of a complex nature. * Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. * Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements * Associates Degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics or Biomedical Engineering is preferred. * 3-5 years of cyclotron (particle accelerator) experience in the production of radiopharmaceutical products preferred * In lieu of cyclotron experience, 3-5 years of ion implantation (linear accelerator) experience in the semiconductor device fabrication process will also be considered * Experience/familiarity with beam generation, acceleration, focusing, steering, rastering, as well as RF power, and high vacuum preferred. * Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, along with understanding technical manuals. * Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment. * Knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems. * Able to use radiation field survey meters. * Working knowledge of electronic test equipment including, oscilloscope, DVM and network analyzer. * Requires good communication, organization, analytical and computer skills to include proficiency include Microsoft Office and other related software. Working Conditions * Willingness to work in a plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels. * This position requires working in some of the highest radiation fields observed in the radiopharmaceutical industry and allowed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, * Occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations, above-normal noise levels, and/or unpleasant substances. Frequent exposure to devices producing potentially injurious energies. * Occupational exposure to radiation. * Occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations, above-normal noise levels, and/or unpleasant substances. * Light to moderate physical exertion, including occasional standing, bending, reaching and occasional lifting and carrying of light to moderate loads (of up to 55 pounds). * Must be willing to wear a variety of personal protective equipment. * Willingness to work in a team based environment. * Close attention to detail required. * May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing duties. * Must be able to work outside of regular work hours. Must possess good hand-eye coordination.
