a workplace model that does not allow remote work. As a Controller
the essential responsibilities include: Ensure accurate and timely
performance of all financial reporting and accounting functions.
Supervises, manages and reviews the monthly close process and the
preparation of financial statements and other financial reports for
STAR Financial Group and related entities. Analyze and interpret
financial data, providing insights and reports to senior
management. Responsible for the coordination, preparation and
review of the quarterly call report filing. Works directly with the
Finance Operations Director on the establishment and maintenance of
a classification system for new and established general ledger
accounts to meet the reporting requirements of various regulatory
authorities. Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory
requirements, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary
adjustments. Manages and coaches the accounting staff to include
other Human Resources responsibilities such as setting and
monitoring annual and quarterly goals, completing timely
performance appraisals and provide ongoing staff training programs.
Develop and implement procedures which enhance internal controls
and efficiency. Lead the accounting function during our annual
external financial audit accurate preparation of the annual report.
Oversee Accounts Payable functions. Participate in project
implementations to ensure disruption or business impact is
minimized. Provide financial reporting guidance to accounting and
finance teams across the bank. Coordinates preparation of
consolidated federal and state income tax returns. Provides
accounting administration services for company benefit programs.
Ensure regulatory reporting compliance through review of call
reports and the related processes for its preparation. Responsible
for the coordination, preparation, review and filing of the
quarterly call report. Coordinates preparation of consolidated
federal and state income tax returns. Responsible for the
coordination, preparation, review and filing of regulatory reports.
Monitors bank’s tax position. Skills Needed Bachelor’s degree in
accounting and a CPA designation. A minimum of 10 years of
accounting experience including at least 7 years in an accounting
management role. At least 5 years of bank accounting experience.
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Able to
communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Intermediate
skills in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced skills in Microsoft
Excel. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience in
organizing, conducting, and controlling the budgeting process.
Demonstrated leadership skills. In addition to traditional
